Three Sisters Backcountry Ski Trip
Highly coveted three-day, two-night Hut to Hut Nordic Traverse for four people organized by Three Sisters Backcountry.
The self-guided 22-mile route contours along the eastern boundary of the Three Sisters Wilderness roughly following the historic Metolius Windigo Trail at an average of 6,500′ in elevation. The route moves through the heart of our beautiful Oregon Cascades from Dutchman Flat near Mt Bachelor to the Three Creeks Snopark near Sisters, OR, through old growth Hemlock forests and hidden meadows that offer sweeping views of the Three Sisters and Broken Top.
Unlike the ascent/descent skiing that we host at Tam MacArthur Rim with our Owl and Raven Yurts, this journey will be Backcountry/Nordic. What’s Backcountry/Nordic? Well, the terrain is ungroomed and rolling with gentle slopes. The designated route is void of any avalanche terrain. The snow conditions will vary infinitely from day to day. Sometimes there will be a packed trail from the previous group, other times there will be deep fresh powder, other times it will be icy and firm. Regardless, it will be a spectacular adventure. Those with some fitness, off trail nordic ski experience and appetite for adventure will enjoy. The challenge of the route will be not be technical terrain, but accurately navigating long distances in a variety of winter weather and potentially difficult snow conditions.

A Week in Provence in 2019
One-week stay in a two-bedroom townhouse in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France, just 20 minutes from the Provencal hub of Avignon. Saturday to Saturday stay; Subject to availability in 2019. Most comfortable for a family of four or five, or for two couples.
Situated on a quiet, very narrow side street, our village house is just a stone's throw from the bustling center of this legendary wine town. On your lazy days, step around the corner for fresh croissants, go a few steps farther for the newspaper at the Presse, then relax. If you decide to cook, walk to an excellent butcher shop, two small grocers, and a tiny supermarket for everything you need. Prepare yourself for tasting Rhône wines. Since we don't have a private terrace, we have discovered an incredible spot to sip our evening wine. It's just a three-minute walk from the house, up to the wall below the Château ruin. The view is stupendous and it's a lovely way to connect to the village and its people. On trip days, wind through the vineyards – less than 10 km – to the Autoroute. Côte Rôtie is two hours to the North; the coastal town of Cassis and the stunning Calanques, towering over the Mediterranean, are about the same distance to the south.
